An Exciting New Scouts
Event in Suffolk!
The Event
Suffolk Punch 2022 is an action-packed, five day (four night) camp for Scouts and Explorers.
This is a new event for Suffolk , following on from the unfortunate cancellation of the Suffolk International Moot which had been planned for Summer 2021, but was halted due to the pandemic. Some of the planning team decided that it was necessary to push forward with a new, local event, with an additional motivation to reunite the county following a long time apart.
Over the five days of the camp, participants and adults can expect an exciting, varied and unique programme of activities designed to inspire, engage, and empower, all while building valuable skills for life.
Daytime activities will take place both on and off site. We are fortunate to have good access to a number of local waterways, which we will be using to deliver our brilliant range of water activities.
To help support our environmental mission this event will be entirely paperless. We are making use of the Scout EMS system to manage bookings. Every attendee will be issued with a festival-style fabric wristband, containing a contactless microchip. This technology will then be used to track who is on or off site at a particular time, which activities they have consent to take part in, and their emergency medical information.

The Location
Suffolk Punch 2022 is taking place at Hallowtree Scout Activity Centre.
Hallowtree is a 30-acre campsite set in the heart of the Suffolk Coastal Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site is owned by the Ipswich Scout District Liaison Committee and operated by a small volunteer management team.
We have chosen Hallowtree as the venue for this event for a few reasons but fundamentally it is a Scout-owned site, suited to Scouting activities.
We will have use of the entire site, including multiple buildings, kitchens, halls, offices, and purpose-built activity facilities including a 12 metre climbing tower, axe-throwing range, archery area, shooting ranges and more.
As this is a four-night event, additional facilities are being brought in to provide more capacity for toilets and showers, ensuring that everybody has a comfortable stay.
