Can They Fix It? Yes They Can!

After many months of planning by teams of volunteers across the country, earlier this week saw the first members of the Build Team descend on Hallowtree to begin preparing for Suffolk Punch.

To ensure there are enough facilities to provide for one of the largest camps Hallowtree has seen, extra toilets, showers, marquees, fencing and more have been brought in and erected before participants and leaders arrived on Thursday.

It wasn’t just the Site Services team who have been busy this week though. Many of the Activity Team have been setting up their activities and the Admin Team have been ensuring that all participants, leaders and staff will receive their welcome packs on arrival.

Max, the Site Services Manager, told us “with the hot weather forecast we’ve brought in plenty of extra water. That’s on top of what we already had, including over 9,000 litres for the zorbing pool alone!”

“We’ve put at least 9,000 litres in the zorbing pool.”

He added “I’m much happier now that most of the preparation work is done. I can’t wait for all of the young people to arrive now and see what we’ve created for them.” Of course Max’s job isn’t finished yet, as he will be here all weekend to make sure everything continues to run smoothly. Although he did say he’s hoping to put his feet up, we think this might be some wishful thinking!
